09-Feb-2024: Excel Precision Machining Advances Toward Level 2 CMMC Certification.
The Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) model was designed to strengthen and unify standards for the implementation of cybersecurity controls throughout the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). Excel Precision Machining (EPM) is proud that we will be among the first companies in Canada to adopt these new standards.
On November 4, 2021, the Department of Defense announced the release of CMMC 2.0 and shortly thereafter, in 2022, Excel Precision Machining made a commitment to be ready for Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2.
These updated regulations align with the 14 Control Families and 110 Security Controls developed by the National Institute of Technology (NIST) to help suppliers better defend against more complex and dangerous cyber threats.
Over the past two (2) years, our dedicated team has worked diligently to design and implement these advanced requirements at our facility, we are very excited and pleased to announce that, as of November 2023, Excel Precision Machining Inc. achieved 95 of the 110 requirements!
